Under the patronage of its Executive Director, Dr. Maher Jamal Eddine, Al-Ahsa Hospital organized a Symposium on the ‘Multi-disciplinary approach to the management ofRespiratory Diseases’in the lecture hall on October 4th, 2019 – corresponding to Safar 5th, 1441.
The Symposium was chaired by the Chief of Medical Staff, Dr. Hisham Hussein Imam, and was granted 8 CME hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
The Executive Director Dr. Maher Jamal Eddine, delivered a speech at the opening of the symposium on the importance of the tackled topic on patients’ health and safety, and the role of the hospital in addressing this important disease since it is life-threatening to patients. He also talked about the hospital leaders’ role in change management to meet the growing need within healthcare sector.
The Symposium covered 8 Lectures. The first lecture was presented by Dr. Mohamed Galal(Pulmonology Consultant) and was titled “Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome”. The second Lecture was presented by Dr. Hisham H. Imam(Ob & Gyn Consultant) and was titled “Respiratory Diseases during Pregnancy”. The third lecture was presented by Dr. Ahmad Maher(Anesthesia Registrar) and was titled “Pre-operative pulmonary evaluation and management”. The forth lecture was presented by Dr.Alaa Fawzy(Radiology S. Registrar) and was titled “The Role of Radiology in the diagnosis of Respiratory Diseases”. The fifth lecture was presented by Dr. Khaled Chamseddine (ICU Registrar) and was titled “ICU Management of Patients with Respiratory Failure”. The sixth lecture was presented by Dr. Fadia Ahmad(Pediatrics Consultant) and was titled “Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome”. The seventh lecture was presented by Dr.Sherif Abuelenin (Cardiology Registrar)and was titled “CorPulmonale”. The eighth lecture was presented by Dr.Sameh Basher (ICU Registrar)and was titled “Pulmonary Embolism Diagnosis and Treatment”.
At the end of the Symposium Dr. Hisham H. Imam opened the floor to questions and discussions between the Lecturers and the attendees, and then he concluded by issuing the Symposium resolutions and recommendations.
