Under the patronage of its Executive Director, Dr. Maher Jamal Eddine, Al-Ahsa Hospital organized a Symposium on the “Multi-Disciplinary Approach to the Management of Gastrointestinal Diseases” in the lecture hall on December 14th, 2018 – corresponding to Rabia Al-Thani 7th, 1440.
The Symposium was chaired and presented by the Chief of Medical Staff, Dr. Hisham Hussein Imam, and was granted 8 CME hours by The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Dr Jamal Eddine delivered a speech at the opening of the symposium on the importance of the symposium topic, the role of the hospital in addressing this important issue, and shed the light on the latest services provided by the hospital in that regard to the community.
The Symposium covered 8 Lectures. The first lecture was presented by Dr. Hamdy Eraky (Surgery Consultant) and was titled “Bariatric Surgery: An Update”.
The second lecture was presented by Dr. Fadi Aoun (Head of the Medical Administration) and was titled “Anal Manifestations of Crohn's disease”.
The third lecture was presented by Dr. Wassim Abu Hussein (Surgery Consultant) and was titled “Rectal Prolapse: An Update”.
The forth lecture was presented by Dr. Hisham Imam (Ob & Gyn. Consultant) and was titled "GIT disorders during pregnancy”.
The fifth lecture was presented by Dr.Mohamed Tharwat (Internal Medicine Registrar) and was titled “H. Pylori, An Update”.
The sixth lecture was presented by Dr.Tamer Saber (Endocrinology Consultant) and was titled “Celiac Disease: An Overview”.
The seventh lecture was presented by Dr. Fadia Ahmad (Pediatric Consultant) and was titled “Diarrheal Diseases in Children”.
The eighth lecture was presented by Dr. Ashraf Abdelhady (Radiology Consultant) and was titled “Role of Medical Imaging in diagnosis of GIT diseases”.
At the end of the Symposium Dr. Hisham H. Imam opened the floor to questions and discussions between the Lecturers and the attendees, and then he concluded by issuing the Symposium resolutions and recommendations.
