Neonatal Intensive Care Unit-(NICU)



The unit provides neonatal care services for neonates with acute illnesses born at 30 weeks and above, 24 hours a day.

The unit aims to provide exceptional family-centered care, where parents are actively encouraged to participate in all aspects of their child’s care. The
provide rooms that enable parents to visit and interact with their baby in a comfortable and family friendly environment.

The unit is managed by neonatologist consultants and a multidisciplinary team consisting of nursing staff, respiratory therapists, social workers, and neonates’ growth specialists. Together they provide an integrated model of
 neonatal care, and ensure a safe environment for newborns.

The NICU is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for follow-up of critical medical conditions for post natal delivery:

- Dyspnea and difficulty in breathing.
- Electrolytes disorders.
- Neonatal jaundice or hyperbilirubinemia.      
- Multiple organ 
dysfunction syndrome.
- Severe anemia.
- Low birth weight.

A lactation consultant is available to provide 
education, assistance and support to breastfeeding mothers.
